The story of how Fleurish got started follows . . .
"The first floral arrangements I ever attempted were bridal party bouquets and reception table arrangements for my own wedding. I was looking for a more economical way of including flowers into my wedding day and decided to do my own work. Though it was a stressful time and ultimately the night before my wedding I was cramming to finish my floral headwreath, I found that overall I truly enjoyed creating the designs and working with the flowers."
"The next chance I got I offered to take care of the flowers for a friend's wedding. To my surprise she agreed and so began my first job of custom floral design for a bride to be. We spent lots of time going over the details and I again found I thoroughly enjoyed the process and challenge in planning for and creating the designs according to the brides ideas and preferences. The reward I discovered was in the satisfaction of seeing the bride's pleasure and awe in the beauty of the final product. I was officially hooked and began doing lots of research and learning about all the varieties of flora. I learned about the common and not so common floral types and natural elements available to use and incorporate into designs. I offered my work to every friend I new who was planning their wedding and got to design for each one over the years. I also got the chance to work for a local retail florist for close to two years, which allowed me to expand on my skills and enhanced my perspective for all the stylistic approaches one could implement in the industry."
For eleven years and counting, Samantha took every opportunity to work with flowers and found a true passion for floral design. In 2006, after getting several word of mouth design jobs she decided to make her work in floral design official and created Fleurish.
She defines her personal style as a playful mix of contemporary and classic with a European flair. She tends to go for the lush abundance of texture and color, but also appreciates the elegance a more simplistic monochromatic bouquet denotes. Her personal preference aside, every design of Samantha's is carefully crafted to speak to her client's style and vision. Small or grand, simple or extravagant, tremendous thought and careful detail is given to each floral piece to create breathtaking designs for the distinct occasion.
